Bacha Coffee in Marrakech, Morocco is an iconic and luxurious coffee house located within the historic Dar el Bacha Palace.
Welcome to the world of exquisite Arabica coffee hailing from different countries that produce coffee beans. The baristas working here are passionate about the art of coffee and strive to ensure that every cup is served to perfection.
Bacha Cafe is situated within the spectacular Dar el Bacha Palace which actually means “House of the Pasha” within the Medina of Marrakesh, Morocco.
Dar el Bacha was built in 1910 which was the residence of Thami El Glaoui, the Pasha or governor of Marrakech under Sultan Moulay Youssef. This private palace was of a grand scale with large gardens and pavilions within the complex. Wallpapered walls and elegant rooms set the tone for a great way to chill, relax and enjoy a good cup of coffee.
The lavish interior of the cafe is smallish which is why there is a pretty long wait to get in there to enjoy our lunch. This was a must-do unique coffee experience for me!
This luxurious period salon is embellished in ornate tilework and furnishing that speaks of old world charm. Totally picturesque, coupled with a captivating ambience.
How can one resist the temptation to pair these tantalising desserts with the myriad of delectable and fragrant coffees available here at Bacha Cafe. From the regular espresso, cappuccino, latte, mocha, macchiato to the “Fes” a blend of Moroccan tea and coffee and “Kif” a spiced coffee drink enjoyed in this region.

The Dar el Bacha Museum-Musee des Confluences is worth a visit as it is one of the most beautiful palaces in the city of Marrakech in Morocco. The Moorish architecture of the classical Riad is characterised by a central garden courtyard surrounded by 6 rooms on all the 4 sides.

The palace includes several annexes such as a traditional Hammam (bathhouse), a douiria (a small private house) reserved for the servants, a library and a private space the Harem, exclusively for the Pasha’s family.

Colourful mosaic formation and intricately carved wooden ceiling adorn the entire complex displaying the complexity and sophistication of Moroccan artistry.

If you wish to have a meal or coffee at the Bacha Cafe, you would have to pay a small entrance fee into the Museum as the Cafe is hidden within the Palace grounds. You will have no regrets, whatsoever!
