The South Africa (2nd Boer) War Memorial unveiled on 12 March 1905 stands in the middle of Alfred Square in St. Kilda that is adjoining the Esplanade. Pathways course through & memorials to the Victoria Cross recipients & a commemorative plaque for the 1st recorded building in St Kilda are also erected here.

Victoria Cross Monument was dedicated in 1985 to all the Australians who died at war, that their country may have peace

A Clock Tower & bust in honour of Carlo Catani (1876-1917) originally from Italy, who was Chief Engineer of the Public Works Department contracted in 1906 to draw up a master-plan to beautify St. Kilda foreshore up to Point Ormond

St Kilda Sea Baths was 1st opened in 1860 & rebuilt in 1910 & subsequently rebuilt several more times before closing in 1993, leaving only the front façade

St Kilda Pavilion is an eccentric Edwardian kiosk that was reconstructed & reopened in March 2006 after being burnt down in an arson attack on 11 September 2003. The site is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register & owned by Parks Victoria

The present day Royal Melbourne Yacht Squadron clubhouse dates from the 1920’s. It began in the early 1870s as the St Kilda Sailing Club & the St Kilda Lifesaving Club was established in 1911.

St Kilda Beach is located in St Kilda, Port Phillip, Victoria & lies about 6km south of Melbourne city centre. People come here for swimming, sunbathing, windsurfing, sailing, kite-surfing, rollerblading, beach volleyball, jet-skiing, fishing & water-skiing.

This is one of the 46 bayside beaches which is monitored by EPA Victoria for water quality. Sitting on the north-east corner of Port Phillip which opens to the sea, it is protected from the ocean swell but subjected to regular tides & strong westerly winds

St Kilda Beach is Melbourne’s most famous sandy beach that stretches about 700m between St Kilda Marina & St Kilda Harbour along Jacka Boulevard & St Kilda Esplanade. Having fun here could just be lazing & sunbathing on the beach.
